In a letter to the department, John L. Bryan, chair of the NFPA Fire Safety Educational Memorial Fund Committee, said the task force believed the Olive Branch team "showed the most significant accomplishments and demonstrated the most effective leader-ship among the competing teams." The letter was sent on behalf of the IAFC, the NFPA Board of Directors and the memorial fund committee Bryan chairs. The grant for $5,000 will go toward expenses for award recipients to attend the IAFC’s Hazmat Conference in Hunt Valley, MD, June 1-4.
