QUAKERTOWN, N.J. — It was a night of thank yous at the Quakertown Fire Company headquarters as a major donor, the firefighters and a former chief were all recognized for their accomplishments.

The Franklin Township Committee held its Thursday, Jan. 24, meeting in the firehouse right after the company honored its insurance agency, ProAccess, and Fireman’s Fund insurance for the $32,195 equipment grant given to the volunteer unit.

The Quakertown Fire Company has received a total of around $130,000 in the grant program over the past six years. Brad Patkochis, a former chief, noted that they budget around $20,000 a year for equipment, so this has in essence allowed them to double the amount spent over that period.
