Mich. fire department gets $117K grant for safety improvements

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — The Crockery Township Fire Department in northern Ottawa County will receive $117,230 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, part of the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow announced today.

Other departments receiving the grants are Berrien Springs/Oronoko Fire Department ($40,850) and Fremont Fire Department ($46,347).

The grants help improve their operations and boost safety for their emergency personnel and the public.
