SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — The Fry Fire District is has announced that it was recently able to purchase new rescue tools with a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The rescue tools will improve local firefighters’ ability to perform patient extrication, following a motor vehicle accident.

The new tools include: a hydraulic cutter, with 320,000 pounds of cutting force, which can also cut high-strength steel found in many of today’s newer automobiles; as well as a gas-powered rotary saw, that can be used as a backup to the hydraulic unit.
