SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Taunton Fire Department has received more than $40,000 in federal funding to replace equipment including its air-filling station for its breathing apparatus.

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Dan Maffei announced the grant Wednesday in a statement.

The $42,356 in federal funding was allocated via the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
