Part of the funds will cover a mobile training unit equipped with materials to simulate a burning building
SAGINAW, Mich. — The Saginaw Fire Department plans to spend about $110,000 in federal and state grants to fund rescue training and protective equipment for city firefighters.
Saginaw City Council on Monday, Sept. 8, will consider the expenditures, which include a mobile system that allows the department to train firefighters across the region.
Saginaw Fire Training Officer Ona Lee Aguilar said the $71,140 "Fire Ground Survival Training" will help prepare the department and other area firefighters for worst-case scenarios.
