$1M grant helps train Ohio firefighters

The funds will reduce expenses for basic certification in the hopes that individuals will pursue more specialized training

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A new $1 million grant will be helping firefighters move out of the classroom, and into real world situations.

The $1 million check was presented today at the Clark State Community College tactical training facility. State Fire Marshal Larry Flowers says the training will keep communities safe.

“It’s going to make firefighters safer. There’s no doubt about that. It’s going to reduce injuries for firefighters,” Flowers explained.
