Wis. fire department gets grant for iPads

Two iPads, one for each engine, will help firefighters map the scene, keep track of fire teams and monitor utilities during a fire

TURTLE, Wis. — Firefighters may be just a bit safer in the Town of Turtle. The fire department received a grant from FM Global to implement the latest technology in their trucks.

The $963 Fire Prevention Grant, written by the Voluntary Action Center, will go towards two Apple iPads — one for each engine.

Through the help of different applications, the iPads will be able to map the fire scene, keep track of fire teams and monitor utilities that need to be shut off during a fire.
