N.C. trauma council considers funding life-jacket stations

Money would go to life jackets at boat landings through the 'Kids Don't Float' campaign

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Injury Prevention committee is considering using their funds to help support organizations that are planning to build a life-jacket station at an area lake boat landing or swimming beach. 

You may have seen the “Kids Don’t Float” campaign focusing on boat landings supported by the DNR. Organizations are setting up stations at popular swimming beaches in their areas too.

In this program local service organizations get financial support to set up a life-jacket loan station. The service organization then maintains it.
