Greensburg Daily News

GREENSBURG, Ind. — Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) received $17,275 in grants from the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County to support programs and services. Funds for the program are raised by the Hospital Foundation through the Daffodil project, special events such as the Gala and Golf Outing, and from individual donations and bequests from caring members of the community.

Programs receiving funding this round include:

• Inpatient Nursing received $3000 in funding toward the purchase of an emergency evacuation chair. These specialized chairs allow for the manual evacuation of patients on the new Med/Surg wing during a disaster. Mounted on the wall, they offer a quick, safe escape through the stairwell and can easily be operated by a single staff person. With the addition of the new Cancer Care unit on the fourth floor, such improvements will be most important.
