Racing association grant helps Ill. fire department buy radios

DUBUQUE, Iowa — The fire department was awarded a 2010 Dubuque Racing Association grant that allowed for the purchase of four portable and one vehicle emergency radios.

The radios will be used by crews on fire and emergency scenes to communicate with the incident commander.

The $4,166 radio project was fully funded by the Dubuque Racing Association. To date the DRA has awarded more than $44,000 to the fire department.
