OK. senator wants firefighting funds added to special session

OKLAHOMA CITY- State Senator Jeff Rabon is asking Governor Henry to include emergency funding for firefighting in the call for a special session.

The Hugo Democrat says severe drought conditions in much of the state pose a fire danger that could result in the loss of lives and millions of dollars in damages.

The US Department of Agriculture this week declared 75 of Oklahoma's 77 counties as agricultural disaster areas because of the drought.

Rabon says the state's forestry division lacks the funding to deal with the danger the state is facing.
