Description: 

Overview:
The Delaware Forest Service works to minimize damage from wildland fire through prevention and suppression activities.

Eligibility:
All Delaware Volunteer Fire Departments are invited to apply for a 2012 Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA) equipment grant.

Application Instructions:
Applications for grant funds must be received at the Delaware Forest Service office in Dover, DE, no later than March 23, 2012. Your Fire Department Federal Identification Number and the daytime telephone number of your grant coordinator must accompany your application.

Additional Assistance:
Additionally, formal courses regarding wildland firefighting training are offered at the Delaware State Fire School each year in January. A more informal, two-hour short course is also available for your training night at your fire house. Please think about incorporating these training opportunities into your grant. It would be a great way to provide in-kind match.
