2 fire grants to help NH town offset tax burden

Two fire department grants will help to offset the amount to be raised by taxes in Greenfield in 2019.

Town Administrator Aaron Patt said in February that the total tax impact in town, should all the warrant articles be passed in March, will be $37,973 or 1.6 percent higher than last year.

“The Selectboard will weigh the use of fund balance to offset taxes during the tax rate setting process in October,” Patt said, in an email. “With an essentially flat budget, we will look to minimize the impact on taxation depending on how the revenues go.”
