3 W.Va. volunteer fire departments land AFG grants

The money will be used for safety equipment and training

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Three West Virginia fire departments have been granted federal funding to purchase safety equipment and strengthen professional training and wellness programs.

Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $78,470, Harts Volunteer Fire Department, $47,443 and Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, $47,272, according to a media release from Sen. Jay Rockefeller.

Rockefeller, Sen. Joe Manchin and Rep. Nick Rahall made the announcement Sunday. The funding comes from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
