Casino revenue used to buy new ambulance, AEDs

Pa. township awarded $245,000 to purchase a new ambulance, police cars, and defibrillators

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Money granted by the Northampton County Gaming Revenue and Economic Redevelopment Authority will fund the purchase of a new ambulance, two police cars, and 22 defibrillators by Bethlehem Township.

About $245,000 in gaming money was the result of three grants the township applied for from the authority, reported the Morning Call .

The grant will cover the cost of a new ambulance the township has been wanting to purchase this year. "It allows us to have a new one 100 percent paid for,” said Tom Nolan, township commissioner.

The defibrillators will be placed in all township buildings, ambulances and police cars.
