TRENTON, Mich. — The Trenton Fire Department is expected to receive a $180,662 grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the funding will help firefighters and first responders obtain “critically needed equipment and other resources.”

U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-12th District) said, “Our firefighters and first responders put themselves in harm’s way every day to keep our communities safe ... This funding will help ensure they have the most up-to-date resources and equipment to save lives and do their job protecting our community.”
