Miss. volunteer fire station gets new pumper

$70,000 grant from Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program helped fund purchase

STARKVILLE, Miss. — One of Oktibbeha County's volunteer fire departments now has a brand new fire truck.

Thanks to a $70,000 grant, the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program, known as RFTAAP, helped fund the county's efforts in getting the vehicle.

The brand new fire pumper features a 1,250 gallon tank and has a 1,000 gallon a minute pump.
