GARFIELD, N.J. — The Garfield Fire Department received a more than $100,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant that will help the department purchase equipment.

Garfield received a $103,697 Department of Homeland Security Federal Firefighter Investment Response Enhancement (FIRE) Assistance to Firefighters Grant, said U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-NJ-09), chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus.
