CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. — Mayor Gerald A Calabrese announced that the Cliffside Park Volunteer Fire Department received $675,000 in federal funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

"I am proud that this award, is the most received by any fire department in the state," said Calabrese. "With 600 service calls a year, Cliffside Park Fire Department is a very busy agency."

According to Calabrese, the grant monies went towards the purchase of a new fire vehicle that replaced a truck that has seen more than 30 years of service. The new truck, Ladder 1, rolled into town Oct. 25 and is ready for use.
