Update : The Grants Ballgame

In Februrary, we did a poll of the users of VolunteerFD.org. The results were impressive, and showed that our members value the service that VolunteeerFD.org provides. We have grown to over 9900 members, and the amount of information for Volunteer Fire Departments is unmatched on the web.

This has come through hard work and effort by both the staff of VolunteerFD.org and more importantly, by the members of VolunteerFD.org. We have reached our two year anniversary, and we are trying to expand the site to exceed your expectations and to continue to provide high quality content. Upcoming changes include a new 'look' to VolunteerFD.org, the launch of the next two VFD Cruises, and fundraising programs for our members.

Over the past two years, I have dedicated countless hours to the site, and over $25k of my own money to keep the site up and running. Vendors have helped to subsidize the cost, but with the additions I am looking to make, advertising is not going to cover everything.

The survey asked if members would be willing to pay a monthly fee to keep VolunteerFD.org running, and to be able to 'turn off' the ads. I was happy to see the responses that showed just how much VolunteerFD.org is worth to you, and that some of you would be willing to pay a fee.

The challenge is, I want to keep the content coming from members, but also provide an option to those members who can afford to help us. Therefore, I have set up a voluntary sponsor member program. ( http://www.volunteerfd.org/sponsor.php )

The program is simple. You can choose your level of sponsorship, and wether you would like to sponsor monthly, quarterly, yearly, or just make a one time sponsorship. We have set up four levels of sponsorship as a guideline:
