RAINELLE, W.Va. — After three years of applying for an Assistance to Firefighters Grant, Rainelle firefighters say they almost gave up hope, but firefighter Shawn Wolford pushed them to apply one more time, and it's a good thing they did.

With the help of a $660,000 grant, Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department is able to purchase a new Quint truck, which combines a ladder and a pumper truck into one.

"It will be a benefit for this area for a generation to come, firefighters that aren't even born yet will be using this truck in 20, 25 years,” said Wolford.
