Ky. county awarded $44K for new radio consoles

The funds will go towards a system-wide overhaul of the county's dispatch center

WHITLEY CITY, Ky. — McCreary County officials got some good news last week with the approval of two major grant applications.

911/EMS Director Jimmy Barnett announced Friday that the 911 Dispatch Center has been awarded $44,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for new radio consoles. 

The funding is the final component in a two-year effort to completely upgrade the department’s equipment.
