Tenn. fire department gets new uniforms with $230K grant

It's been about 15 years since new turnout gear and air packs were purchased

NEW MARKET, Tenn. — A local volunteer fire department is getting some much needed equipment to help save people's lives.

Firefighters with the New Market Volunteer Fire Department are on a mission to save lives and homes, exactly what happened to Kathy Moody 20 years ago. 

"You've got no control over it. You just have to stand there and watch, pray they get it put out. If we hadn't had the fire department, it would've burned," she said.
