FBI raids fire chief's home, he claims no wrong doing

Sources say the investigation has to do with his role on the sheriff's department, not the fire department

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — A Morgan County volunteer fire department chief whose home was the target of an FBI raid this week denied any wrongdoing at a public meeting Thursday.

Dave Allison, who heads the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department and also is a reserve deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, offered to step aside if the probe becomes a distraction, said Richard Korra, chairman of the Harrison Township Fire Protection District.

For the time being, though, Korra said Allison will remain in the post he has held in the northern Morgan County township for at least a decade. Federal agents declined to say what they are investigating after raiding the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Allison’s home in the Waverly area Monday.
