Mass. fire department gets grant from property insurer

The award from FM Global will be used to assist with pre-fire planning to efficiently collect and track data related to local community buildings

MATTAPOISETT, Mass. — The Mattapoisett Fire Department has received a $2,600 fire prevention grant from FM Global, one of the world's largest property insurers, Mattapoisett Fire Chief Andrew Murray recently announced.

FM Global representatives presented the award to Murray at the Mattapoisett Fire Station, located at 26 County Road.

The award will be used to assist with pre-fire planning to efficiently collect and track data related to local community buildings. The information will help the fire service respond in an emergency situation, Murray said.
